Very easy to put together, probably took a total of 10 mins. Very sturdy plastic and the railway integrated on top of the lid is also awesome, because they have thomas the train toys that can go with it. It's a decent size not to big and not to small plus the pouches on the side can hold stuffed animals, and smaller toys. My only complaint with it, is that the lid doesn't click into place, it just rests on top. (so you can flip it upside down for the train track) Other than that it's easy for the kids to open and close. Good toy chest for a decent price, would recommend to anyone with kids w/lots of toys! Stores quite a few of his toys, he loves Thomas & Friends. I find the side pouches excellent storage for his books.
