My 4 year old son took an interest in the Take Along Thomas trains. This set provides a great layout design to play on as well as options to expand and change the layout.
The track is nice and light-weight. Therefore, storage is easy and the entire layout can be easily carried in a medium sized (i.e. hat) box. It comes with two interactive stations (barrel loader and hay bale loader). It also features a bridge overpass and 2 “switch” pieces. This gives you many options for other layouts.
My son has no problem putting the track pieces together even though they softly snap together. The track is wide enough for the trains to roll easily and smoothly. Overall, he enjoys it very much and I think it is a great set to go with the take-along trains. I believe the regular wooden trains would fit on this track as well.
