Our oldest son (now 4) got this train about 2 1/2 years ago as a present. We still have it and it has now passed to our younger son (18 months). While we never invested in the additional track to make a proper set (only comes with two straight pieces) both sons have spent literally hours and hours and hours playing with this train. While it does understandably show some wear the tender remains firmly connected to the engine, all the wheels still function perfectly and I bet if we put batteries in the engine would likely run. It is a good size for little hands. Unlike some other plastic toys I’ve bought (Fisher Price toy fishing boat comes to mind) I am very pleased with this one.
