I think so -- having a limited amount of track forces the designer to plan carefully and really think about the efficient use of resources. I bought this expansion set for my little train crazy preschool boy & our fun doubled. A very good addition to your basic figure 8 set. <br />BUT, you can find less expensive track from Brio that is compatible with Learning Curve's. There are a couple of other's out there if you're looking to save money...just check ebay for instance. <br />That, said, I do like the look of Learning Curve's track & the road markings on the straight pieces. We spend hours playing with the set and setting up new configurations. I would definitely recommend this item when combined with another set. If you have products that came with packaging that says Lifetime Warranty, they'll still honor it if you can produce that packaging info, but otherwise it is now a much shorter warranty (90 days against manufacturing defects). They are still selling stuff that sells Lifetime Warranty but all of the new stuff rolling out will no longer have that on the packaging. <br /> <br />I am very disappointed about the change and will not be buying Thomas products any more.
