I researched the roundhouse at real stores and online stores and this was the best price. Recommended for the Thomas the Train lover… fun to put the trains in bed for the night. It does not come with the roundabout; had to buy separately.

This is a great purchase. The doors work well unlike other reviews I have read about the Deluxe Roundhouse. It is a great center piece for a Train set. It states on the box it comes with a 5 way track piece, not the turntable. It can be used right out of the box. However, if you prefer the turntable you can purchase it separately. I have seen it on Amazon and at Toys r us. My son absolutely loves putting the trains to sleep in the roundhouse. In my opinion this particular roundhouse leaves more to the imagination than the Deluxe Roundhouse that has all the bells and whistles.

First off, let me start by saying I bought this roundhouse with the turntable for VERY little on Ebay. I saw how much it was in stores and online, so I waited it out with bidding. My son likes this roundhouse pretty well, but I found the one that makes sounds for really cheap locally and decided to get that one for him, he likes it even more, so if you have the money, the sights and sounds roundhouse is the way to go. Either way, they are both very well made as with all Thomas wooden railway items and you won’t be disappointed.

This was the best price I could find for this item after a lot of research on the web and in stores. Thomas merchandise is quite pricey so I took advantage of the few dollars I could save by purchasing it on Amazon. This is a great addition to the train table and my son loves it. If you have limited space on your table because of all the other Thomas track add on’s like the covered bridge, suspension bridges, water tower etc…you may want to also purchase the switch track so you can attach multiple tracks to the roundhouse without taking up much space on your table. The roundhouse comes with a 5-way track but you can only attach that to one single piece of track. The roundhouse is extremely sturdy and I would expect it to last a good long time.
